Getting into the fitness scene over the last 7 weeks has been great, it has been an amazing ride, a real lifestyle change. But the journey hasn't finished yet I still have a month to go.
Over the past week I have developed an addiction to exercise. It is an awesome feeling. Every time I look at my sneakers I get an urge, it sounds crazy but it is such a powerful pull, I can't help but to put my sneakers on, and get out and do some exercise.
It has been fantastic getting to know you all and getting all the feedback about my Great Forest Events training. S many people have approached me, I have had lots of chats, in the supermarket, up Trig, on the street, and walking on the beach. I have spoken to people that are registering for the first time, also a lot of people who have done it for quite a few years, but everyone I have chatted to has the same level of excitement and enthusiasm. I seem to be sending or giving out registration forms left right and centre so join in the fun and do the event. You can do it too!!
I've spent quite a bit of time this week biking. I have really enjoyed getting to know the tracks around the region. Some useful tips I have learnt while out on my bike:
1. Always have something warm on, we've had some fabulous weather over the last week but biking (especially in the forest) can get chilly.
2. Absolutely always have a water bottle on you, biking can get quite intense.
On the diet front I've been 99% great this week. In saying that I am not too hung up on losing weight right now, it's more about getting fit, having energy to burn, and getting healthy. In the past week I have been cutting down on food that, my body doesn't need, and food that doesn't make me feel good. I've replaced all this not-so-good food with double the amount of healthy, whole foods, plus lots and lots of water for hydration! We are lucky to be surrounded by lots of market gardens so fresh healthy food is all around us!
If you haven't joined me on this journey already its not to late. I highly recommend everyone starts on this road to more exercise and healthy eating, get out there and find something you are interested in or better yet ring me I'll find something for you to get involved in, and help keep you motivated to achieve your goal, big or small!
Training this week:
